Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Your website says that you are members of the VHCC panel.
What does this mean?
A: VHCC stands for “Very High Cost Cases”. These are the most serious and complex criminal cases,
such as terrorism and cases involving major fraud. Only those firms which have been able to demonstrate
expertise in such areas are permitted to represent anyone accused of these offences.Bayley
Law is such a firm.
Q: What does the logo at the top of the web page mean?
A: This is the logo of the Criminal Defence Service. Only those
firms of solicitors which have satisfied the Legal Services
Commission that they can meet the requirements of the “Quality
Standard Mark”, and can therefore offer to clients a quality
service, are allowed to display the CDS logo.
Q: Revenue & Customs in Leeds want to interview me about an alleged fraud,
but I know that your firm is based in Manchester. Should I still ring you?
A: Yes. We travel to all areas of the country to represent clients
accused of serious offences. We also have links with barristers and
experts based throughout the country who are able to assist us.
